When we found out that the breeder of one of our previous border Collies was still in business, we really wanted another one of her dogs. After some scheduling, we flew to England to pick him up and brought him back in the cabin with us. He has exceeded our expectations. He loves other dogs and people, especially kids. everywhere we go, children love to pet him. He did very well in Conformation, achieving a Champion title at the age of 18 months. He has a leg in Obedience and is competing at the Excellent level in agility. He had some herding training, which he did very well, but we did not pursue that activity due to the distance we had to travel to work with sheep. We want to continue with Agility, Obedience as well as starting training in Tracking. To see Keppie running a Jumpers with Weaves agility course, click on the link on the Agility page. (He had a great run, but failed to qualify - he dropped a bar on the jump after the weave poles).

Keppie completed his AKC Grand Champion title in April. 2011. Since then, he has increased his Grand Chapion points to 59. In December, 2011 he was one of 44 national and internatioal Border Collies who were invited to participate in the AKC/Eukanuba Championships in Orlando, Florida. although he did not win breed or an award, it was certainly an honor just to be invited and participate in a national dog show. His handler, Kari Smith said he performed beautifully.

We were sadden to learn of the death of Keppie's breeder, Mrs. Angela Gillispie, who died of a heart attack in 2012 while showing one her Border Collies at a dog show.

Keppie has now joined Angela on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
