Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club Code of Ethics

Preamble

Members of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Cub shall consider the welfare of all dogs to be of primary importance.

Ownership
All dogs owned by members of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club shall be maintained under sanitary and pleasant conditions, treated humanely at all times and given necessary health care.

Breeding
Members are responsible for maintaining the quality and soundness of any dog they breed. In a breeding program, members will keep in mind the health, temperament, and possible hereditary defects of any breed (or dog) being bred. Members do not sell wholesale, or sell to (or place their dogs with) pet shops, catalog houses, or any other commercial distributors. Members never breed using profit as a motive without regard to quality.
All members shall take full responsibility for every litter they breed. If it becomes necessary, they agree to take back any dog or puppy sold or placed by them.

Conduct

No advertising shall be false or misleading. All claims, both written and oral, shall be factual and honest in both substance and implication.
All members should exhibit good sportsmanship and feel personally obligated to protect the interests of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club by conducting themselves in a positive manner. The breach of one member of this Code of Ethics does not in any way absolve another member from any obligations under the Code. While showing, breeding or owning dogs as a member of this club, every member should be a worthy representative of the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club

Education
Each member of HSNPKC should strive to assist in the education of the public or anyone who desires educational assistance on the care, well being and advancement of the purebred dog and all dogs at any opportunity that we may have.

Expulsion
Any member who shall disregard this Code of Ethics will be subject to suspension or expulsion form the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club.

* In accordance with the Constitution and the By Laws of the Club.
